• Frugal Scholar Money Management Program: Offers guidance on financial planning, debt management, and managing educational expenses. 

McGill Scholarships for Future Undergraduates 

Students who are Transfer, Mature, Diploma, Exchange, Special, Part-time, or Visiting are not eligible for entrance scholarships. There are two categories of centrally-administered entrance scholarships: 

• One-year Scholarships: Valued at $3,000 (non-renewable) 

• Major Entrance Scholarships: Valued between $12,000 and $48,000 ($3,000 to $12,000 per year, renewable for up to 4 years, subject to meeting renewal criteria). 

One Year Scholarships (CA$ 3000) 

All undergraduate applicants at McGill University are automatically eligible for a one-year entrance scholarship. This scheme provides the minimum academic support to undergraduate students. However, if the minimum requirements are not fulfilled, students won’t be guaranteed an entrance scholarship. 

Major Entrance Scholarships ($ 3,0 CA 00 – CA$ 12,000) 

Major entrance scholarships are awarded by selection committees based on academic achievement and exceptional leadership in school or community activities. Academic excellence is given the highest priority, followed by demonstrated leadership. It is important to note that “leadership” extends beyond mere participation in extracurricular activities. 

• $12,000 scholarships are exclusively available to Canadian citizens or legal permanent residents of Canada. 

• Applications for Major Entrance Scholarships open on October 1st through the Undergraduate Admissions Applicant Portal. 

McGill University Scholarships: Eligibility and Deadlines 

McGill’s future undergraduate scholarships are merit-based awards and aid for first-time university students studying in a full-time undergraduate program. The following category of students are not eligible for these scholarships: 

• Transfer 

• Mature

How to Apply for Scholarships at McGill? 

McGill University scholarships are awarded to meritorius students only. Students who have an excellent academic record can apply for these scholarships. However, there is no separate application process to recieve scholarships and awards. Students are required to submit the following supporting documents in their McGill application for admission: 

• All grades and interim grades awarded up to the admissions application deadline. 

• Any additional grades (interim or final) should be sent to the admissions office immediately upon issuance.
